Hey guys, I'm Kailey.

I'm from the Charlotte, NC, born and raised! I am currently not in school, I'm actually taking a semester off to work/save and because I'm planning on switching majors from baking and pastry arts to something more missions-directed. I live with my parents, my 4 siblings, and my adorable dog. I have 2 part-time jobs, one as a manager at an italian ice store and one as a baker in a little bread bakery. 

I really hate having too much spare time because I feel like I get lazy, so I try to fill up any empty hours in my days with spending time with friends or serving familes in my church or cooking and baking. But if I do end up with nothing to do, I love reading - give me a good novel or theology book and I can be set for a couple hours. I also spend  probably too much time browsing food blogs and cook books for recipes I may or may not ever use. I like action movies and the color purple and mountains, and I think I'm a little bit OCD... I love everything about the Latin American culture, from the language to the people to the food (especially the food).

I've been to Mexico 4 times on mission trips, all to the same place - a ranch that is an orphanage and school. I would say my biggest interests probably are baking and foreign countries, the latter of which stems from my heart for missions, I think. I was super shy growing up and am still learning to come out of my shell and actually talk to people, so I'm excited for this trip to challenge me and help me grow in that area! I'm also so excited for God to do a work in New Zealand; I have a huge passion to see the world light on fire for Jesus Christ and to see people everywhere hear about Him. I want God to break my heart and completely change the way I view the world. Soli Deo Gloria!
